So me and my girl C go way back. You know, back to the days where you've only got mac and cheese to eat in the apartment, and you're just hoping your boyfriend will take you out for a decent dinner. Oh, to go back to those days! Now my hubby and I sit and go, "Man, we were rich back then, we just didn't know it!" Anyway . . . that's a conversation for another day. Back to C.
We lost touch for several years, but recently connected through the wonderful phenomenon of Facebook. You cannot even imagine my giddiness when C asked me to be a part of the.big.announcement. She was planning a pregnancy, and was so gracious to ask me to get in on the "telling the family" part of things. I think announcing a pregnancy is one of the times when you truly get to be so creative with a huge announcement.
I mean, when you get engaged, usually your parents already know it's coming, and heck, you usually even know it's coming. Once the ring's on your finger you just start dialing the phone and don't care who answers, they're hearing your news. Now.
But with a pregnancy - the announcement is a big deal. You can surprise everyone. You have an amazing little secret that nobody knows about. My girl C took full advantage of this wonderful time. And she did it with cookies . . . I'm telling you, the girl has style!
I made these pink and blue strollers with buttercream frosting, as that is the frosting of choice for her niece and nephew. I piped on "Addison Grace" on the pink strollers, and "Greyson Andrew" on the blue strollers, with "4.11" in the corner. This is the month that sweet tiny boy or girl will grace this world.
When she found out she was pregnant (and probably after the second or seventh pregnancy test), C took these cookies over to her family. When they opened the box, they were greeted not only with yummo cookies, but also the sweetest surprise!
Thanks, C, for letting me have a little part in your special time. Cannot wait to celebrate the next nine months with you and then meet that precious little bundle!!
